What is radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas produced by the natural decay of uranium found in nearly all soils. It moves up through the ground into the air above — and into buildings through cracks and openings in the foundation.
Offices, clinics, and care facilities are no exception. Any building that touches the ground can have a radon problem.
Radon doesn't stop at the front door of a home
Residents, patients, children, and staff may spend many hours a day inside. The only way to know a building's level is to test it.
Long hours indoors
Long-term exposure is what matters for radon risk, and some buildings are occupied all day.
Every building is different
Levels vary with soil, foundation, ventilation, and layout — a neighbor's result tells you nothing about yours.
Documentation you can use
A professional report supports your safety planning, your communication with staff and families, and your records.
Buildings I test
If people occupy a ground-contact space in your building, it's worth testing. Common requests include:
Assisted & senior living
Residents are often home most of the day, which makes a baseline test in common areas and ground-level living spaces especially worthwhile.
Medical & dental offices
Testing in treatment rooms, waiting areas, and staff spaces, scheduled around patient hours so care is never disrupted.
Child care centers
Careful placement in classrooms and play areas, with plain-language results for directors and families.
Offices & workplaces
Employers who want to know the air in their building, from small professional offices to larger commercial space.
Municipal & community buildings
City halls, libraries, community and recreation centers, fire stations, and other public facilities.
Houses of worship & nonprofits
Sanctuaries, fellowship halls, classrooms, and offices used by congregations and community organizations.
Multifamily & apartments
Ground-level units and common areas for owners and property managers who want a documented result.
Something else?
If your building has occupied space at or near ground level, call. I'll tell you honestly if I'm not the right fit.
A testing partner with no stake in the outcome
I test, and that's all I do. I don't install or sell radon mitigation systems, so my results are never influenced by the possibility of a repair contract. Every test is planned, placed, retrieved, and reported by me personally — Jim Kurek.

- 01
Walk-through & planning
We discuss the building, which occupied spaces touch the ground, and your schedule, then agree on a testing plan and timeline.
- 02
Device placement
Continuous radon monitors are placed in the appropriate spaces, with locations recorded.
- 03
Testing period
Monitors run through the required test period. I coordinate with your contact so devices stay undisturbed.
- 04
Retrieval & report
I retrieve the devices and deliver a clear written report with results by location, compared to the EPA action level of 4 pCi/L, plus plain next-step guidance.
- 05
Follow-up, if needed
If a space comes back elevated, I can help you understand the result and plan follow-up testing. Because I don't sell mitigation, the guidance stays objective.
